Nearshore and Offshore Wind Cable Support
Nearshore and offshore wind cable projects require early technical input, disciplined planning, and experienced marine execution. CMI supports developers, cable manufacturers, EPC teams, and project owners with the marine construction expertise needed to move complex cable scopes from planning through installation.
Our experience includes nearshore cable installation, landfall support, HDD marine support, shore-end operations, route review, PLGR, submarine cable installation, remedial burial, and post-lay burial. CMI’s practical understanding of marine logistics, union coordination, permitting constraints, coastal access, and local working conditions provides value long before equipment arrives on site.

HDD in Nearshore Cable Installation
Horizontal directional drilling is often used at cable landfalls to reduce surface disturbance, avoid sensitive coastal resources, and provide a controlled conduit between upland infrastructure and the marine environment.
Through the combined capabilities of CMI, Huxted Trenchless, and Northeast Remsco Construction, JAG Companies can support the interface between offshore cable installation, shore approach work, HDD operations, and upland civil infrastructure. This integrated capability is especially valuable on projects where landfall coordination, pull support, marine access, and constructability must be aligned early.
The Challenges of Wind
Offshore wind projects are technically complex, but the nearshore and landfall portions often present some of the most challenging execution risks. These scopes may involve constrained coastal access, environmental restrictions, union labor requirements, permitting conditions, local stakeholder coordination, weather exposure, and tight installation windows.
CMI brings experienced marine construction leadership and practical field knowledge to help clients understand these risks early, develop workable installation approaches, and execute with confidence.
